We are always on the lookout for new cricketers to join us here at Failand & Portbury Cricket Club. If you are interested in joining us then the section below gives a flavour of what to expect.
Many of our current players are cricketers who have moved to the Bristol / south-west region for work or studying and we have a good mix with local cricketers who have played for the club for many years.

In the first instance, we encourage any prospective new players to come and join us at training. If you would like to attend training, then please get in touch on the details provided or simply just turn up and we will be happy to accommodate you.

Indoor Training
​
Our winter training takes place at Merchants' Academy Sports Center in Bristol which provides an excellent environment for our indoor training. We have the use of 4 cricket nets which are suitable for cricketers of all abilities to practice their and improve their skills.
The format of our winter training is as follows:

2 nets for bowlers and batters

2 bowling machine nets, where coaching can be provided if required
We endeavour to ensure that all attendees receive equal batting / bowling time.
Our indoor training takes place every Thursday from 8-10pm up until April 20th.
Summer Training
Summer training consists of outdoor nets at the ground both on the square and on the artificial strip.
The club have recently refurbished the artificial strip located at the bottom of the ground which allows us to train outdoors even weather conditions are somewhat challenging.Our outdoor training takes place on Tuesday evenings from late April to the end of August from 6-8pm.

Getting to Failand
Our is located on Horse Race Lane which is accessed from the Clevedon Road (B3128). Follow the Horse Race Lane road down until you see a car park in front of our pavilion. There is ample parking provided here or in the field directly behind the pavilion on the field.
